Grand Marshal Candidates Sought

Once again organizers of the Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade are giving the public a chance to be heard in deciding who will be the 2024 Parade Grand Marshal.
Suggestions for worthy Grand Marshal candidates for the March 9, 2024 St. Patrick's Day Parade are now being sought. After careful consideration, the Grand Marshal will be selected from the list of nominees.
The letter of nomination should provide a brief background of the nominee, citing the reasons why the nominee would be the proper choice for Grand Marshal.
"We like to get input from everyone out there because it's impossible for us to be aware of every possible candidate," said Parade Director Judy Weeks."
The deadline for nominations is December 31. 2012. The Grand Marshal will be announced to the public in January at the Halfway to Great American Irish Festival Hooley. The Parade Grand Marshal will also serve as the honorary chairperson of the 2024 Great American Irish Festival. The Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade, recognized as one of the largest in New York State, is presented by the Great American Irish Festival, with the cooperation of the City of Utica.
